A while ago, I interviewed Becky Horace, a co-founder of Seek Magazine in anticipation for the company launch and charity event. Well, it was finally time and on November 7th, I attended the event.
Kanika was suppose to go with me as well but she fell sick so I had to go alone. A bit nervous and realizing I hardly know anyone there, I arrived at the event just on time. I wanted to get to know as many people as possible. Anyways, so after arriving, I was greeted by my friend Nicola Jones from Business in Heels and soon after I finally met Becky in person (yes, the interview was done virtually).
The location for the event was set at REED Institute – a cozy institution with a beautiful garden, conveniently located just off of Sukhumvit Soi 3.
The evening started with registration and entering our names for a lucky draw featuring some amazing prizes. After completing that, I moved on to getting my photo taken with Becky in front of SEEK Magazine backdrop.
After introducing myself to a couple of notable people such as the the co-founder of SEEK Magazine, Ali Khakpoor and other sponsors of the event, I went to grab a drink. Free flow wine and beer (Two Tales) were being serviced as well some delicious finger foods such as sliders, kababs and quesadillas. Couldn’t help but stuff myself with these goodies!
Soon after, the MCs (celebrities I might add) Cat and Elidh MacQueen kicked off the night as they introduced the sponsors and hosts. As we continued to enjoy our food and drinks, we were serenaded beautifully by the talented singer Alex followed by a Blues band, The Vintagers. The two also jammed together as the night went on.
We were also encouraged to participate in the silent auction that featured some AMAZING, amazing packages sponsored by local Bangkok businesses. I even gave it a go and placed my price for a package that was worth 14,000 Baht and guess what? I won the auction at only 4,000 Baht! SEEK magazine was very smart and generous with their packages and credit also goes to their selection of great sponsors.
Here’s what I got in my package:
- Two beers plus signature glass from Two Tales brewery
- 2 days, 1 night stay plus day activities at Sampran Riverside Resort
- Voucher (worth 4,500 Baht) for 2 at Chomp Cafe
- Voucher (worth 1,500 Baht) for 2 at The US Steakhouse
This package was definitely a steal and we are so excited to give them all a try. We’ll surely be reviewing and writing about all these places so stay tuned on our blog. There’s going to be A LOT of content coming your way!
At about 9:30, I was all ready to call it a night and decided to leave a bit early.
I would like to thank SEEK Magazine and all the sponsors for a great night and was honored to meet some amazing people who are willing to do good.
