It’s the month of Halloween and while Bangkok is no stranger to the macabre with dozens of events, there has never been a massive event such as the one coming up on October 27. Sponsored and presented by Smirnoff Midnight 100, the OMG – Oh My Ghost EDM festival is sure to send chills down our spine with their DJ lineup and spooky Haloween-theme setups.

Here’s what you should know about the OMG – Oh my Ghost music festival.

Lurid lineup

Pardon my wordplay here but OMG – Oh my Ghost certainly did their homework by getting some topnotch DJs, each with their own EDM style. The event headlines R3HAB known for his Dutch-house style and many collaborations with artists such as Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Vinai, KSHMR and many more. I’ve always enjoyed his remixes such as One Kiss, How Deep is Your Love and much of Rihanna’s songs. Some of his originals are also great, so I am extremely excited to see him live.

A few months back I was introduced to Miss K8 at another music festival but her performance was cut short, so that is another artist I am looking forward to seeing again. Her mix of hardcore beats and drops are surely going to kill it at OMG – Oh my Ghost.

With a name like Ghastly, it’s only fitting he is part of the Halloween themed music fest. His unique varying style in EDM, dubstep and bass house is another great addition to the event.

Another act to look forward to at the festival is the duo, Breath Carolina, known for their mashups in EDM, electro-pop, electro-rock, and even some funk. Their music (songs such as DYSYLM, feel it and blackout), will surely get people singing and dancing.

Ghoulish Getup

Even though it is not on Halloween night which actually falls on October 31, October 27 makes more sense as it is on a weekend. You can expect a lot of people to dress up as something scary, funky, sexy, naughty or a bit of everything.

While there will surely be a lot of the classics – a combination of slutty and scary nurses, zombies, vampires, and skeletons, we also expect a lot of other unique and creative costumes. Possibly a lot of references to trending people, movies and TV shows.

As for me, I’m planning on something like this costume below, inspired by the Purge. There are lots of ways you can wear this electrifying LED mask. You can wear it with a suit or pair it with an all-black/all-white street-style outfit. Just get creative!

It will be the time for adults to be kids once again and go trick or treating in their own way. One that involves a lot of drinking and dancing.

Ticket prices vary depending on how early you get them. The “emergency” tickets sold out already. You can get early bird (shocked) tickets for just 1,500 THB or the VIP ticket for 3,500 THB. Pre-haunted tickets worth 1,800 THB will go on sale on 20th October. A special group package for 5 tickets is priced at 6,500 THB (1,300 THB/person), which is a great deal if you’re going with friends.
