Mykonos has a lot to offer. From gorgeous beaches lined with Ibiza-like parties to adventures around the island to relaxing at luxury hotels. However, what we were most looking forward to on our trip was exploring the dreamy streets of Mykonos town.

Depending on what you like, there is something for everyone at the town. Shopping, dining, drinking, scenic viewpoints or simply people watching. Our favorite thing to do here? Well a bit of everything but we were mostly in awe of the sheer beauty and vibes created by the colors that make up the town. We couldn’t stop taking photos as we sipped on beers, teas, cocktails and mouth-watering Greek dishes in between.

While there is no denying that every alley of this white and blue laden town is a photo opportunity, some shops, restaurants and houses definitely stand out more than others. At least for us. So we thought why not share our pick of gorgeous “Instagram-worthy” spots where you can also shop, dine or drink while you take photos.

Before we leave you with planning your trip to Mykonos, here a few tips for creating your perfect shot.

  1. Go early before the crowds wave in. You really don’t want people coming into your photo unless you want to show how busy the streets are.
  2. Get lost and then get lost again. It is a labyrinth of interconnected streets and each one has something different to offer even though it might seem like it’s all the same. Just explore as much as you can.
  3. Retrace your steps and gain a different perspective. If you back from where you came from, you will see what was behind you when you walked past it. Or simply look back from time to time if you don’t have so much time. You could honestly spend hours here and still feel like you missed something. We felt that way.
  4. Angles and perspectives are important in photography so it definitely applies here. You can take a shot of the street from ground level, from a corner, or even up high if you have a long camera pole. Play around with it.
