The Thai Culture is a very unique one. Although deeply influenced by religion, the basics of Thai culture revolves around respect, self-control, and a non-confrontational attitude. There is a relaxed and calm vibe to Thai people, which coined the famous term ‘sabai sabai’.
When it comes to learning the culture, there are several pragmatic rules while some are downright superstitious. But what is important is that us as travelers, tourists and even expats need to be mindful of them and even respect the beliefs.
Despite so many resources out there, it’s easy to get confused or get misleading information. That’s where the Thai Culture Guide can really help intrepid travelers understand it better in a unique, fun and accurate way. Think of it as a guide made by locals for foreigners in Thailand.

Our honest take

This is an amazing initiative as it helps intrepid travelers, expats and tourists to really learn about Thai culture before they even get there. It is so important to be at least aware of these things to avoid complications and trouble. For us, living in the country for so long, some of these lessons are new and surprising. It’s definitely worth a look if you’re serious about traveling for learning about other cultures.

However, we think it could be even more interactive than simple videos, text and pictures. We could be given a quiz at the end of a lesson or make us go through a series of games to gauge our understanding. This will make learning more interesting.
