I imagine most people prefer to book their hotels weeks or even months in advance. It may be for a couple of reasons – either to beat the high prices later on in the season or to simply reassure themselves that they have a place to stay when visiting a new destination.
For some of us frequent travelers, plans are often made last minute. In high seasons this can be a pain in the butt, since affordable, decent hotel rooms are hard to find.
This is where the HotelQuickly app really comes in handy if you’re traveling in the Asia-Pacific region. Now I’m not reviewing or advertising the app because they paid or asked me to do. No, I am actually in love with this company – how they operate and what they offer.
Although I did do a PR review of them on my other website, last year.
So what makes HQ so special? Well according to their brand promise,
They offer the best 3 to 5 star hotels that are on average, 28% cheaper than other online options
Now that is something! And they do. Their prices are amazing and the app only displays the best deals from select hotels in a city.
The downfall? It’s only last-minute bookings, which means you can only book a hotel a day or 2 in advance. At the moment, they are having a promotion to be able to book 7 days in advance but I’m not sure for how long this feature will last.
Design and User Experience
The UX and design of the HQ app is pretty simple, elegant and seamless. They have made several changes over the past year based on user feedback, which is great to see. Everything flows very well from the start to finish. Sign up with a credit card and personal details, select a country and then a city that you are planning to visit.
Voila, you are shown half a dozen hotels and resorts ranging between 3 to 5 stars with appropriate prices. Select one, go through the pictures and details of each and then press book.
It’s all pretty straight forward, step-by-step process for anyone’s standard. The large image of hotel and limited info makes it easy to make a decision, taking precious time off your hand.
Pro-tip: It’s easy to forget selecting the dates as I had done last year, which caused me to lose one of my booking, thinking it was the next day. Make sure you select the correct check-in/check-out dates in the filters section.
Swipe to book (this is a no-return, non-refundable confirmation of your booking).
Features
As soon as you create your account and connect your credit card, you’re given a promo code, which you can share on multiple platforms to earn credits. This awesome feature of the app is the icing to the cake. These credits are redeemed as cash discounts for your bookings. This is a really great incentive for people to download and spread the word about HotelQuickly. You can actually earn enough credits to get free stays at hotels…that is if you can convince all your friends/followers to download and use the app.
To get to your code, simply go to the menu and select Free Nights. Here’s mine: SNAVE. Use it to get 400 Baht (10 USD) off your first hotel booking.
There you have it guys. I think HotelQuickly should be your next go-to travel and booking app. Even if you don’t use it every time, it’s good to have it for that one fine day. Also it doesn’t hurt to share your code with your friends every now and then, all the while collecting credits to redeem a free night at your favorite hotel. Who wouldn’t want that, right?
