It’s mid year and we’re both sad and excited for what it has brought us. Sad because we haven’t achieved much of what we wanted to accomplish by now. We hoped to have visited a lot more countries and also set up a business by now. We’re also nowhere near our goals for where we want our blog to be but we’re rolling with the punches. We’re excited because we still have 6 months till the end of the year, which means a lot more opportunities and travels to come.
P.S. We don’t travel full-time. In fact we don’t travel all that much in fact. I work a full-time job while Kanika manages her time freelancing for fashion brands and working towards building our blog plus a business.
Anyways, so here’s a look-back of the year so far in pictures, a 6 months travel review of sorts.
ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN
Rawal Lake
Saidpur Village
Murree
Faisal Mosque
SIEM REAP, CAMBODIA
UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
THAILAND
P.S. After seeing these photos, we’ve realized we need to improve our photo taking and editing skills. We also need to figure out why our photos are coming weird with all kinds of weird marks. Maybe it’s time to get it cleaned or fixed.
I really liked seeing your photos from Cambodia and the UAE. How did you go in a car and go about the sand dunes. It looks awesome.
Thanks Gina. Yea Cambodia was new to us and UAE was new to Kanika. The car, we went with a tour company…it’s called dune bashing and many operators offer it. Give it a try, it’s so fun!
I think you guys had fantastic six months. Many people would want be in your shoes:)
It has been, we admit. We hope to have an even better second half. Thank you 🙂
What a beautiful photo review of your travels! Siem Reap is one of my favorite places I have ever been, and your photos are beautiful! It took me back for a second! Thanks for sharing!
Thank YOU for commenting Megan. We have a lot more photos from Siem Reap but never got around to uploading them and also they are on another computer.
Wow, Pakistan looks amazing, I would never have thought of it as a tourist destination but I am definitely open to the idea 🙂
You would be surprised. If you’re looking for an adventure trip or cultural one, Pakistan should definitely be on your list. It’s really not that dangerous as people or media says. Just stay away from the Afghanistan border lol
I can only look at these pictures in wonderment. Awesome that you’ll could take 6 months off and travel so much. Love the sunset picture. And the one in the sand dunes. Have a terrific 6 months ahead 🙂
Hi Sandy! Well actually we didn’t take 6 months off. We work full time in Bangkok and this was on and off travel. haha Maybe we should make that clear. And Thank you!
Oh wow the picture of the monk in the water was awesome
Wow! that is a whirlwind time that you have had and visited some amazing places. Wishing you safe and great travel for the second half of 2016 too!
From these, I have only been to Siem reap and loved it. Would love to make it to Pakistan someday but visa issues are insane for Indians – I think its worse than applying for a US visa sadly 🙁
Yes! Kanika is Indian but we got her visa because we know people at the Pakistani embassy in Bangkok. I’m sure it won’t be the same if I need to go to India although we are told by people they will make it happen lol. It pays to know people seriously.
For now, why not come to Thailand then?
I love your photos – I don’t think they came out weird, and I can’t see any weird marks 🙂 Looks like you’ve had an amazing 6 months. I’ve realized that even though we may not achieve everything we set out to in the time we set out to do it, life always has other plans for us, so I’ve learned to roll with that and extend the timeframe on my goals as need be 🙂
Thank you so much Meg for the kind support and words. You’re very right also. It’s not a race but a journey. 🙂
I love travel in review posts. I especially love your car in the sand picture. It made me laugh for some reason. ^^
Thank you! That wasn’t our car. Funny story behind that picture…that was actually another car during a dune bashing tour and we took the pic while crashing and fumbling in our own car. It was an amazing experience.
Looks like an exciting past six months! I am excited to see what you have for the next six months. Safe travels!
Shayan and Kanika — you guys are way too hard on yourselves! You’ve done so much traveling/writing and more these past 6 months. Enjoy the moments of progress and let that propel you forward. I’m a big fan so keep it up, sending positive vibes your way.
Aw thank you Danielle! Yes, we seen your support and we love you for it. We really hope to meet you in person sometime soon. Love and vibes from here as well to you.
What an exciting half a year! And the pictures are amazing 😊
Looks like quite the six months!! My fave is the shot of the monks in the water in Thailand 😀
Thank you Andrea! Yes, ours too! It was one of those unexpected experiences.
Lovely pics, they don’t actually look weird! The sunset photo at Rawal lake lake is beautiful 🙂 It looks like you’ve had an amazing six months!
